Amine treated bentonite:Organobentonite, used as a thickener, rheology modifier, gelling agent, and suspending agent in oil-based systems, i.e., solvent-based systems, is a modified bentonite that changes from hydrophilic to hydrophobic. This type of organobentonite modified with quaternary ammonium salts is also called an organophilic clay or rheology modifier.

Oil Drilling Fluids (Drilling Muds)

This is the most common application scenario of organobentonite. In oil-based and synthetic-based drilling muds, it mainly serves as a viscosifier and gelling agent, which can effectively enhance the cutting-carrying capacity of drilling fluids, optimize hole cleaning efficiency, and accurately control the fluid loss of drilling fluids to the formation, ensuring the smooth progress of drilling operations.
