When looking to buy organoclay, it’s essential to consider its effectiveness in powder coating formulations. Powder coatings with poor fluidity tend to develop orange peel, while excessive fluidity leads to sagging. To balance leveling and sagging, rheological additives are needed, and organobentonite stands out as an excellent choice. It is affordable, requires small addition amounts, and offers high cost – effectiveness. In flat powders, adding around 0.5% organobentonite has no impact on the coating’s gloss and leveling. Additionally, when coatings develop craters due to uneven surface tension, incorporating 0.3% organobentonite in the formula can improve the issue. If the effect isn’t obvious, our anti – contamination agent GA49, added at around 0.5%, can often solve the problem.

Organoclay is the commercially available organically modified clay mineral used as a rheology modifier and anti-settling additive in oil-based systems including drilling fluids, solvent-based coatings, and lubricating greases; full product specifications are at organoclay — product specifications and application guide. The organophilic clay surface chemistry, dispersion method, and compatibility with different base oils and solvents are explained in organophilic clay — surface chemistry and industrial applications. To source organoclay directly from a China manufacturer, see organoclay supplier — factory-direct supply and technical support.
