Organoclay treated bentonite is a modified clay product crafted through specific processing methods, with the dry method being a common approach in its production.

This method starts with selecting moist sodium – based bentonite (which can also be calcium – based bentonite) containing 20% – 30% water. The chosen bentonite is then mixed with organic surfactants, followed by heating and extrusion processes.

After these steps, the material undergoes drying and grinding before being packaged as the final product. Alternatively, the water – containing organic bentonite obtained after extrusion can be directly mixed with organic solvents, showcasing the flexibility of the dry method in producing organoclay treated bentonite.
