The chemical name of organic bentonite is bentonite (Bentonite), the appearance of powdery granules, insoluble in water.CAS No.: 1302-78-9. Molecular Formula: Al2H2O12Si4 .

2. Density: about 1.5±0.1 g/cm3.
3. Boiling point: 381.8±37.0 °C.
4. Flash point: 184.7±26.5 °C.
5.Physical form: gel or solid.
6. Solubility: insoluble in water and organic solvents.
Bentonite uses include as drilling mud, casting sand binder, thixotropic agent, suspending agent and rheological additives.
It can also be used as rubber and plastic fillers, synthetic resins and ink anti-settling additives, pigments and original paste coating thixotropic and thickening agent, additives for daily-use chemicals, oilfield drilling fluid suspending agent and so on.

In diesel oil based fluids,organophilic clay viscosifier CP-2 are used to increase carrying capacity and suspension properties, providing support for weight materials and improved cutting removal. Organophilic bentonite also aids in filter-cake formation and filtration control.
