CP-10 organoclay is a rheological additive made of organoclay. It is used in non-polar to moderately polar aliphatic and other solvent systems (ketones, ester, ether esters, alcohols, aromatic). At present, this model is mainly used in paint and grease. It is an organoclay bentonite of oil system.
Composition Organic derivative of a montmorillonite clay
Appearance Fine powder, white
Moisture content (105℃,2hr) ≤3.5%
Loss on ignition (1000℃) 29%-32%
Bulk density 0.53g/cm3
Fineness (<74μm, %) ≥98%
is used in the following applications: paints, sealants, and adhesives, inks, and cosmetics.
CP 10 can be added to powder immediately, without the requirement for a polar activator or pre-gel.
However, improved performance may be obtained by adding a polar activator and altering the pre-gel procedure.
To maximize effectiveness, the addition should occur prior to the grinding procedure.
Typically, the addition level is between 0.2 and 1.0 percent.
