What is glass beads ? Glass beads minimize scratches on the surface of the workpiece. Its dust is very low, so it is a non-toxic and harmless abrasive.
Glass beads are very stable and uniform in hardness, particle size distribution and chemical stability, and can be recycled many times, so it is very economical.

What Are Bead Blasting’s Applications?
Aerospace industry | Remove rust and paint from mechanical components to remove knife marks. |
Remove scratches on the rubber | Reflective paint for roads |
Scratch treatment on the surface of stainless steel. | |
Foundry industry; | Pre processing in the electroplating industry. |
Semiconductor Industry | Crafts for exterior decoration |
what is glass beads
Solid glass beads are a low density, lightweight product that combines many chemical advantages.
Therefore it can be used in cosmetics, paints, coatings, plastic fillers and road markings. Their chemical composition mainly includes: silicon dioxide, aluminum silicates, alkali metal oxides and so on.
Silicon dioxide is the main component of glass, which gives it abrasion resistance and chemical resistance.
And some solubilization aids can lower the melting point of the glass. For example, potassium carbonate, lithium oxide, sodium carbonate, and so on.
All in all, these chemical components contribute to the good performance of solid glass beads.

Different applications have different names and classifications for glass beads. For example, in the road coating industry, we call them road glass beads. In the cosmetics and skin care industry, they may be called “micro glass beads” or “glass microspheres”.
Glass beads, which is a kind of transparent glass powder, the main raw material is silica. Depending on the structure, we also call it hollow glass beads and solid glass beads.
These only differ in its properties, shape and appearance as well as size, but they all have relatively high refractive index.
Therefore they are currently used in a variety of different industrial applications, such as personal skin care cosmetics, the medical industry, the cosmetic industry, the plastics industry, the rubber industry, the coatings industry, the paints industry, and as road marking material.
